Fire Destroys $1.5 million House of Rolando McClain in Alabama
A huge fire destroyed the Dallas Cowboys defensive star Rolando McClain's home on Lake Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Monday night .
Fire Chief Tom Clark of Carroll's Creek Fire Protection District confirmed the news of the destruction of McClain's house in a fire to Birmingham CBS station WIAT. 25-year-old McClain grew up in Alabama and played for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
McClain tweeted his disbelief of the fire in his post and said "It can't be real! To much of my 'history' in that house for it to be gone@RMcClain205."
Nobody was hurt in the fire. The 7,500 square foot house with six bedrooms and five bathrooms has been listed for sale on several websites for $1,5 million.
The fire department officials say the fire started around 6 p.m. and burned the house to the ground.
McClain is now making an NFL comeback with the Cowboys. The player has had quite a chequered career in his 25 years. He has already retired twice from football, signed a $40 million contract, got cut, got arrested thrice including his conviction in July on charges of resisting arrest and got traded. Before the NFL Draft in April of 2013, the Raiders cut McClain with two years left on his contract.
He had a strong season with the Cowboys filling in for Sean Lee at middle linebacker. McClain tallied 65 tackles, two interceptions, three pass deflections, one sack and one forced fumble in 13 games in 2014 and was a big part of the Cowboys' resurgence.
