The CW has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming third season of the hit DC Comics-based TV show, "The Flash," and from the looks of it, there is more to life beyond the changes caused by Barry Allen's alteration of time.

Titled "Time Strikes Back," the trailer opens with Barry (Grant Gustin) asking Henry Allen some questions pertaining to the nature of the timeline he created. Furthermore, some of the key individuals in his life begin to gain awareness of Barry, as well as their connection with the latter from the original timeline.

To recap, the events of the show's second season led to Barry taking the path he should have picked in Season 1's conclusion: Travelling back in time to save his mother from her murder at the hands of his nemesis, the Reverse Flash.

However, as the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 trailer for Season 3 suggests, his actions have caused the creation of a new timeline, aptly named by the Reverse Flash as "Flashpoint" - a nod to the DC Comics book of the same name.

Actor Carlos Valdes, who plays as Cisco Ramon in the show, shared a few details regarding the "Flashpoint" version of his character during his appearance at Dragon Con 2016.

"This character I'm playing is still Cisco Ramon, but it's obviously an alternate reality version of him in which he is still a genius and still possesses a technological prowess about him. Now though, he's able to cash in on that prowess and build his way up the ladder to become the richest man in America. He's a billionaire!"

Valdes further commented, "He's created all these things and these apps at Ramon Industries - which looks a lot like S.T.A.R. Labs - and he's ostentatious, not afraid to flaunt his wealth which makes for interesting colors and relationship dynamics. Barry has to struggle with the fact that this is not the Cisco he knows, and there's a bit of an antagonistic energy to this Cisco."

This can be seen in the latest trailer, in which a confused Barry Allen explains to Cisco his unintended creation of the "Flashpoint" timeline. However, the former shrugs him off as he clarifies his lack of interest with his dilemma.

"The Flash" Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. on The CW. You may view the new trailer below.
