American Horror Story Season 6: Possible Theme Leak

By Staff Reporter - 07 Sep '16 11:58AM

American Horror Story will air its 6th season this September, but even though there have been trailers released, the theme hasn’t been revealed by the creators. Going by the trailers, it’s not easy to pick out just what theme the new season will actually have. The difficulty is compounded by the fact that the creators themselves admit that, while some are accurate, some of them are ‘misdirects.’

But when has that ever stopped anybody from trying? Speculation just builds up the hype and gets everybody pumped up for when the series actually goes live. So let’s get right to it!

First off, we go by the supposed leaked TV Guide. You can see near the bottom that it's titled: "American Horror Story: The Mist"

AHS titled revealed in TV Guide? This is in their schedule in the latest issue.

This is backed up by what was also listed in the Rotten Tomatoes website, according to The Wrap.

Recently, though, Rotten Tomatoes has put a little addition to the title of the series in the website. The title now is "American Horror Story: The Mist (FALSE). And doesn't that just beat all?

After all these, fans have then begun to wonder just what The Mist could be. After all, the show's episodes revolve around the theme stated for that season.  There's even a trailer that supports this theme, if ever it really is the correct one. Definitely scary. At least, we hope it is, and we've not been disappointed yet.

Popular speculation leads to a well-known novella by Stephen King also titled The Mist (2007). It was first included in Dark Forces (1980), then again in Skeleton Crew (1985). The story revolves around a sudden mist that appears around a small town. It goes on from the point of view of shoppers stranded in a supermarket, and from there this group witnesses that there are monsters hidden behind the unnatoral phenomenon. Unfortunately, this theory has no confirmation. But hey, who can go wrong with horror inpsiration from Stephen King?

For now, we'll have to be content with having just our speculation, since FX Networks CEO John Landgraf himself said that it will eventually only be revealed in the premiere. The mystery of the theme itself is good marketing, if I do say so myself, as it keeps the fans abuzz with speculation and guessing, which in turn builds up hype.

The air date for American Horror Story's season 6 is September 14, 2016. We can only hope to found our answers, then. May it definitely be worth the wait!
