iPhone 7 Specs Leaked? More Details To Be Revealed in Next Apple Event
Apple has sent invites to various media outlets for a special event this Wednesday, where expectations befall to the company unveiling their upcoming flagship phone: The iPhone 7.
However, renowned system analyst Ming-chi Kuo, who has been predicting Apple specifications with high accuracy for years, released a set of notes detailing the features of the new iPhone days before its impending reveal event.
Kuo commented that there will be numerous changes and upgrades with the new iPhone, but customers may not feel the difference since its overall design will be based from the iPhone 6S frame.
"General users may not feel the differences significantly," mused Kuo.
In addition, he commented that these details may be included with the iPhone 7:
- A new A10 processor that can run at speeds between 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, but there is a possibility for Apple to clock the processor lower in lieu of fears surrounding heating and power consumption.
- Unlike previous iPhone models, the iPhone 7 may have different storage options ranging from 32GB to 256GB - a higher range from iPhone 6S' 16GB - 128GB options.
- He expects the new iPhone to be more water resistant than the 6S. According to his findings, Apple has improved on the IPX7 Water Resistance feature of the unit, rendering it capable of withstanding splashes, showers, and even quick water dips.
- The headphone jack might be omitted from the design, as he sees Apple providing both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter in the box. This will enable them to squeeze in enhancements for the speaker, as well as an improved Force Touch feature.
- The current model will retain the same display capabilities as the 6S and the 6S Plus, but may have the iPad Pro's Wide Color feature, which will offer better color quality.
- There will be a dual-lens camera on the iPhone 7 Plus.
- The new iPhone will be available in five, different colors.
While nothing much can be said for Kuo's track record in revealing Apple specifications ahead of their announcement, it would be best to keep our eyes glued on the launch event tomorrow, which will be happening at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Users will be able to catch the event via livestream using their Mac or iOS devices at 10AM PDT.
