On the 3rd of August, a source from SEVENTEEN's agency Pledis Entertainment unveiled their plans for Mingyu relevant to his recent acquired injury.

The label stated, "Despite suffering from a back injury, Mingyu will be attending his planned schedules. Even though his back muscle had been shocked, the medical aide informed us that it wasn't severe. But for the time being, Mingyu will be getting the rest he needs. The injury is presently improving, but for now, we will have to wait and see. We will do everything we can to make sure that he returns in good health and condition."

Mingyu also wrote on Seventeen's official Twitter stating, "Hello, this is Mingyu. I was debating whether or not to write this, but I decided to because of your concerns. I am sorry and also upset because I feel like I'm causing harm to the fans and the members. It's a minor back injury, but my agency advised me to think further ahead, and my members considerately told me that it' was okay. I will be performing at the concert, but I will have to miss out on several performances with difficult choreographies."

He continued, "You guys probably looked forward to it, so I'm very sorry, and I also regret not being extra cautious. I will recover as fast as possible and return with a proper performance. I apologize for worrying you guys." (Allkpop)
