Supermodel Heidi Klum Deemed too Hot for Las Vegas

Supermodel Heidi Klum's ads for Sharper Image were rejected by officials with the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

"We are shocked that the Sharper Image ads featuring Heidi Klum have been banned in Las Vegas - of all places," the chief marketing officer with Sharper Images' ad group, Dari Marder, said in a statement reported by CBS Las Vegas. "We believe the campaign is tasteful, beautiful, and while sexy, not inappropriate in any way. The reaction to it has been fabulous to date and it is running in all forms of media without any issue."

The same ads, running under the campaign name, "Gift Right" have been approved in other cities, such as New York and Los Angeles. In some pictures, the 41-year-old model strategically covers up her completely naked body with her arms and legs. The ads, however, are paired with sexual innuendos. For example, one of the slogans for sound soother reads, "What does Heidi Klum Like in Bed?"

According to spokeswoman Christine Crews with Alliance Airport Advertising, the photographs of the scantily clad model violated the Clark County codes that were placed to protect families who walk through the airport. The ads have violated the code that prohibited "the showing of the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering or any portion thereof below the nipple."

Crews added, "While we are in Las Vegas, there are families that come through the airport and there are children that come through the airport. County codes are in place to serve the interests of everyone."

Since the rejection, Sharper Image's ad firm, Iconix Brand Group resubmitted images that were modified. These images have been approved and will run from Jan. 3 through to Jan. 9.
