The upcoming sixth season of "American Horror Story" will be darker, claims the executive producer Ryan Murphy. The new instalment will have a new and shocking theme for the audience as the series never failed to send a thrilling presentation with its episodes.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy revealed that "American Horror Story" Season 6 will be "more rogue and dark." If the viewers have already been terrified by the contents of the show so far, they can expect more gut-wrenching scenes and twisted story lines next season.

The previous seasons of the series have been frightening in their own way. The first season of "American Horror Story" involved a fatal ghost that haunts a family in their house. Season 2 had the horrific stories of the notorious Briarcliff Asylum. Season 3 stayed the dark world of the witches, Season 4 brought the viewers to the freaks of the circus. And the fifth season led us to the doors of the haunted Hotel Cortez.

Murphy also said that Season 6 will be set in the present timeline though it is also expected to run in a dual timeline where some scenes will revisit the past. This is similar to the setup of the previous seasons. Regarding the exact storyline of Season 6, Murphy has kept it a secret.

Game N Guide reported that Lady Gaga has finally confirmed her involvement in "American Horror Story" Season 6. She is expected to join Evan Peters for another frightening treat by FX. Other joining actors for "American Horry Story" are Kathy Bates, Angela Basset, Sarah Paulson, Wittrock, Denis O'Hare, Cheyanne Jackson, Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley.

The new new season is expected to air sometime in October, similar to the premiere date of the past seasons.
