The Xbox Anywhere initiative is the best reason yet for gamers to upgrade to Microsoft's new operating system. At E3 last week, Microsoft announced its Xbox Anywhere initiative, its shift towards a unified Xbox ecosystem that would exist across the company's console, PC, mobile and tablet platforms.

For gamers, what this essentially means is many of the great Xbox-exclusive games that were restricted to console gamers - like Halo, Forza and Gears of War - will in the future also be available to PC gamers on Windows 10. And it gets better. Not only will you be able to get these great games on either Xbox One or Windows 10, but if you buy digitally, buying on one platform automatically also gives you access to it on the other platform.

Based on the game, Xbox Anywhere will also allow you to carry game saves from one platform to another. So you could start playing a game at home on Xbox, and continue it on your Windows 10 laptop on the go. Some games, such as Forza Horizon 3, will also allow Xbox One and Windows 10 gamers to join each other in co-op and multiplayer action across platforms. Now that you know what Xbox Anywhere is all about, here are five great games that will soon be headed to Xbox and Windows 10 under this initiative.

From Platinum Games, the creator of acclaimed games like Bayonetta and Vanquish, Scalebound is all about slaying giant monsters with the help of your rideable dragon sidekick and, if you choose, up to three friends. The game features Platinum's biggest boss yet, which is saying a lot. Forza Horizon 3, on the other hand, is coming this September and it looks amazing. The open-world arcade racer moves to Australia this time around, with over 350 cars across various categories to choose from. To add to that, the entire game can be played co-operatively by up to four players.
