‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, News Update: Savior’s Home Base ‘Sanctuary’ All Set to be Introduced to Fans
The shooting of the seventh season of 'The Walking Dead' is currently underway and important scenes are being filmed with prominent characters on the sets. Fans have been getting updates about the same and now some interesting information has come out.
According to reports, one set is still being constructed and in all probability; it is the Sanctuary- the home base of the Saviors. The place has not been seen till date in the show and now it may appear in the upcoming season. As per the comic books description, it is very large in size and what is being constructed is very likely the entrance and some other significant pieces.
The place was introduced in the books in issue 104 and bears the notorious tag of being Negan's home where the Saviors also reside. It was a factory before it became their sanctuary. The place is well-guarded as it is enclosed by a chain link fence and also encompasses a stone barricade along with a wall of walkers.
As has previously been reported, Dwight was seen riding the bike of Daryl, which lends credence to the theory that Negan and the Saviors have kidnapped Daryl and are taking him to the Sanctuary. And now that the set construction report has come out, it is pretty likely that the home base will feature in the next season.
And it is quite an interesting location development. But this is not the only new locations fans will get to see. The Kingdom might also make an entry provided the show follows the storyline of the comic books. In that case, the Kingdom, Alexandria and the Hilltop Colony will come together to beat the Saviors and their leader Negan.
The book features a few scenes with Negan at the Sanctuary and as has been said by creator Robert Kirkman, the villain will continue to be an ever-present threat. So, chances are high that the show is following the book storyline and the Sanctuary is going to be introduced to us.
Season 7 of 'The Walking Dead' premieres in October on AMC.
