‘Supergirl’ Season 2, News Update: Cast Gets Bigger as More Characters Join the Show
Here is some more good news for 'Supergirl' fans. After it was revealed that Superman will be the new addition to the cast, it has been also announced that five more new characters will be joining the show in the second season.
According to reports, new characters will be seen in the show, however, CW has not given an official confirmation about this. One of them is Lena Luther, who first debuted in 1961. She is the younger sister of Lex and showrunners are looking for a sexy and smart actress in the age bracket of 25-35 to portray her role.
The next character is Nick Farrow, who is a brash man and out to make life difficult for Kara at CatCo. He yearns to step out of the shadow of his reporter parents. It remains to be seen if he will change after meeting her and transform into a better person.
These two are slated to be regulars on the series, but the other three will be recurring characters. Among them, one is Maggie, who will debut as a member of the Science Police- the team which deals with threats of aliens and metahumans. She is a lesbian character and is inspired from the comic books.
Many feel that the CW has a great opportunity in Maggie's form as they can fulfill the demands of the campaigners who want more lesbian characters on screen. Also, she would be a fine fit if the show goes for a crossover, as it has done in the past with 'The Flash.'
The fourth fresh character is called Snapper Carr, who will be a journalist at CatCo. And there are no details at to what kind of equation he will share with Kara. The fifth character is known as the Doctor and she will appear as the Project Cadmus leader, tasked with the job of implanting alien technology into humans.
As for Superman, he will appear in the first two episodes of the second season, but no further information is known about his other appearances.
