According to recent news, "Sherlock" season 4 will feature Holmes solving tougher crimes and more complex puzzles. There were also reports that season 4 scenes filmed in Cardiff Bay showed Holmes walking unhurriedly, blocking out unimportant information. Benedict Cumberbatch's character was seen looking at a mysterious male dressed in cream colored clothes.

Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat describe upcoming season of "Sherlock" as the principal arc of all the previous episodes, ending in a season 4 climax. "Ghosts of the past are rising in the lives of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson bringing adventure, romance and terror in their wake," Gatiss and Moffat promised. "This is the story we've been telling from the beginning."

Meanwhile, as John Watson is about to have a baby with his wife, Mary Watson, will Sherlock too find love in the new season? The last time he had a love interest was in Season 2, "Scandal in Belgravia," when Benedict Cumberbatch was paired with Lara Pulver, playing Irene Adler.

Does that mean Irene Adler will return to season 4? If not Irene, then will Sherlock develop new romance for someone else?

The fans can also look forward to see Toby Jones, one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic villains, in the upcoming season. According to previous reports, Toby Jones' character will be seen in season 4 of "Sherlock."

BBC will release "Sherlock" Season 4 in 2017. Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Jones will join Mary and John Watson in show's fourth season.
