‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7, News Update: Does the New Casting Call Indicate a Third Group’s Appearance
AMC's zombie series 'The Walking Dead' has a massive fan-following. The fans are always theorizing about the show's characters and courses. And after the season 6 cliffhanger finale, they have gone into an overdrive, speculating about Negan's victim. But there is some other news as well.
A new casting call has been given for season 7 for a recurring character called Augustus, who looks very much like Ezekiel, the leader of the Kingdom group, in the comic book. Many are speculating that it indicates the arrival of the third group Kingdom. The Hilltop colony and Negan's saviors were the two groups introduced in Season 6.
The Saviors showed up on the finale, while the Hilltop entered in the penultimate episode, expressing fear about Negan and the Saviors. The former were shown to be a large hostile group who consider themselves the main rulers of the area they live in and exploit the smaller groups for supplies. If the folks do not comply, they use threats to get things done.
The Hilltop played a small part in the sixth season and they were basically introduced to give the fans an idea about the fearsome Negan and his group. It remains to be seen if they will show up in Season 7 and if they do, what role they will play further. If the show moves along the comic book storyline, the group will definitely have a larger role.
This is because the comic book shows Hilltop as the place where a fight ensues between Hilltop, the Saviors and the Kingdom. Well, as per speculations, the Kingdom is very likely the third group and the reason the finale ended up in a cliffhanger. A brand new group was the very element showrunners were looking for to introduce in the next season and the promotional videos.
It is also likely that some of the characters of this group were there in the Season 6 finale when Carol was being rescued by Morgan. An unknown small group, wearing unique armor, had interrupted them and asked them if they needed help.
