Chinese tech giant Huawei's Honor lineup has been an increasingly popular brand of choice by smartphone users who prefer decent handset specs and features without bruising their wallet. Recent, the phonemaker is reportedly churning out Honor 8 splashed with aesthetically pleasing attributes, impressive under-the-hood specs, and features that will give other top-notch rivals a run for their money. Updates point to possible Europe launching of the mid-range phablet on June 20.

Here is a list of Honor 8's rumored specs and features as summarized in a report by Gospel Herald:

1. The handset could come out in two variants with leaked document revealing two alleged models labeled FRD-AL00 and FRD-AL10.

2. The latest Honor phablet flagship will sport a 5.2-inch display.

3. As for the gadget's external design, Honor 8 will reportedly have 2.5D curved glass on both sides coupled with a metallic frame- a visual treat for users.

4. Like its Honor V8 cousin, the Honor 8 will feature a 12MP dual-camera.

5. Under the hood, the handset will run on Kirin 950 chipset (or 955) with 4 GB of RAM for enhanced performance.

6. The device may also come with wireless charging technology, 3,000 mAh battery capacity, IR blaster, and a USB Type-C port.

In a related update, Wall Street Journal reported that that Huawei is seeking to elevate the status of its Nexus device in partnership with Google to make it par with high-end rivals in the market long dominated by tech bigwigs like Apple and Samsung. The report mentioned about a promising smartphone with VR-compatible feature.

Though DayDream was not specifically mentioned, tech analysts are speculating over the possibility of integrating Google's DayDream technology into Huawei's Nexus device to offer users the benefits of immersive virtual reality experience on their mobile phones.

Meanwhile, Huawei's attempt to make a dent into the US market may be hampered by the latest regulatory battle between the Chinese tech firm versus its US-based rivals. As per New York Times, the Chinese global supplier of telecoms hardware has been handed down a subpoena by the US Department of Commerce following its suspected commercial ties in blacklisted countries like Iran, Cuba, Sudan, North Korea and Syria.
