Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Price, Specs, Features and Release Date: How does it fare?
Xiaomi only recently unveiled its Mi Band 2 fitness tracker, the third in series after the Mi Band and the Mi Band 1s. The Mi Band 2 is currently priced at 149 Yuan or about 25US$. The fitness tracker is currently announced for the Chinese market and its next destination is soon to be India.
The Mi Band 2 now comes with an OLED display that shows the step count, current time and heart rate. As the new band has a display you don't need to constantly check your app. Also, the display according to Xiaomi is actually scratch-resistant and also has an anodized physical button that lets you control between different modes.
The Mi Band and Mi Band 1s had a 30-day long battery life. However, the new band, due to the OLED display, has less battery life but the company promises that it will still offer battery life of up to 20-days on a single charge.The new fitness tracker is equipped with an energy-efficient ADI accelerometer with upgraded pedometer algorithm that can monitor a range of activities, which includes the number of steps walked, calories burned and more. It also tracks your sleep and displays the number of hours you slept. It has a heart rate sensor, which lets you measure your heart rate while you are working out.You can set customized alerts as a reminder.
The Mi Band 2 also comes with silicone bands surprisingly. It will be available in a range of colors including black, green and orange.The Xiaomi band lets you unlock your smartphone, tablet or any other without even having to put any fingerprint or passcodes. So far the device itself looks promising considering the fact that it's marketed at around 25$. Leaked before launch by an employee himself, this device already had expected it to be a lot better than its predecessor and finally looks like it stays true to its promise of price to performance.
