‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8, News Update: Is Nina Dobrev’s Bikini Snapshot a Ploy to Gain Ian Somerhalder’s Attention

With Season 8 of 'The Vampire Diaries' all set to return, fans are excited to watch their favorite show and what new twists it has in store. But more than anything else, they are looking forward to seeing on-screen pair Nina Dobrev aka Elena and Ian Somerhalder aka Damon together.

According to reports, the ex-flames are reuniting and there is also some extra proof that is coming from a different quarter. Nina's recent post on social media has fuelled the hopes. The actress shared photos of her holidays and one of them shows her chilling out in a bikini, with her slim and trim body, in full display. She is really rocking the bikini look and seems to be having a blast.

After the post, word has got around that the actress uploaded the hot picture of her in a bid to get the attention of her former beau Ian. Well, celebrities posting photos of their chiseled and toned bikini body, is nothing new. Still, the conjectures cannot be dismissed altogether.

As for viewers, they just cannot wait to see the pair together as their sizzling chemistry has got a huge fan following. Though Nina has announced her exit from the series forever, the possibility of her return to the show, cannot be completely ruled out.

Showrunner Julie Plec has already said that she has not given up and is sticking to her side of the plan, which is to bring Nina back in the series. And this is really fodder for the hopes of the fans.

However, reports suggest that Nikki Reed, wife of Ian Somerhalder, does not want them to come together. She perceives Nina to be a threat to their relationship and is not very happy with the prospect of her joining her husband for the shooting.
