ASUS ZenFone 3 Series Updates, Specs, Prices and Release Date: Here's What You Should Know On the Newly-Released Asus ZenFone 3 Series

Recently, Taiwan-based tech giant Asus unveiled three variants of its latest ZenFone flagships, namely, Asus ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra during the Computex 2016 event held at the island-nation's capital, Taipei. Sporting a wide array of impressive specs and features, these phones come out under a $500-pricing.

While Asus specializes in manufacturing mid-tier phones at a more affordable price range, the Taiwanese tech giant did splash a little more fancy tweaks to give its latest ZenFone flagships a luxurious upgrade.

Asus ZenFone 3

The Asus ZenFone 3 ZE552KL is the standard smartphone model in the ZenFone 3 lineup equipped with 5.8-inch Super IPS+ LCD screen plus a Gorilla Glass 3. The phone dons a metallic casing design. It also has a 2.5D curved glass on its front and rear sides. The handset's dimension is 152.6 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm with a weight of 155 grams. The device also offers a 77.3% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, ZenFone 3's processing power is fueled by Snapdragon 625 chipset that comes along with 3GB of RAM on handset's 32GB variant. The 64GB model, on the other hand, has a higher RAM offering of 4GB.

As for its features, ZenFone 3 is armed with f/2.0 aperture 16-megapixel camera and f/2.0 aperture 8-megapixel selfie camera. The rear camera include a slew of other cool features like laser/phase detection, optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash.

The basic model also comes with a USB Type-C port, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with ZenUI 3.0, fingerprint scanner, IR sensor and other sensors, mono five-magnet speakers, LTE Cat. 6 modem, and 3,000 mAh battery. The standard variant is available in black, white, and gold.

ZenFone 3 Deluxe

The ZenFone 3 Deluxe ZS570KL sports a metal unibody design with no visible antenna lines on its rear. It has a 156.4 x 77.4 x 7.5 mm dimension, 179-gram weight, and 79% screen-to-body ratio. In addition, the handset includes a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 4 onboard.

Its processing power is fueled by Snapdragon 820 chipset. Android Headlines, on the other hand, suggested that it may also run on a Snapdragon 823 chipset. The phone comes in three storage options (64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB) and two RAM offerings (4GB and 6GB).

ZenFone 3 Deluxe comes with a 23-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture lens, f/2.0 aperture 8-megapixel selfie camera, laser/phase detection, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash, USB Type-C port, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with ZenUI 3.0, fingerprint scanner, IR sensor and other sensors, NFC connectivity, mono five-magnet speakers, 3,000 mAh battery, and LTE Cat. 12 modem. The mobile handset is available in silver, gray and gold editions.

ZenFone 3 Ultra

Sporting a full metal design and 79% screen-to-body ratio, the large ZenFone 3 Ultra ZU680KL has a 186.4 x 93.9 x 6.8 mm dimension and a 233-gram weight. The device also has a 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen with a Gorilla Glass 4. The ZenFone 3 is armed with a Snapdragon 652 SoC processor plus three base storage options (32GB, 64GB and 128GB) and two RAM offerings (3 GB and 4 GB).

As for all other features, ZenFone Ultra also includes 23-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture lens, f/2.0 aperture 8-megapixel selfie camera, laser/phase detection, optical image stabilization, dual-LED flash, USB Type-C port (plus a USB OTG support), Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with ZenUI 3.0, fingerprint scanner, IR sensor and other sensors, dual-five magnet speakers, 4,100 mAh battery (plus quick charging) and LTE Cat. 6 modem. The handset model is available in three color offerings like silver, gray and pink.

As per GSM Arena report, ZenFone 3 has a starting price of $249 while the Deluxe and Ultra variants sell for $499 and $479 respectively.
