Frozen 2 Latest Update and Rumors: Gay Support, Online Petitions and Debates Initiated To Lobby Queen Elsa's Lesbian Personality In Sequel

Recently, LGBT advocates have launched an online petition pressuring Disney to give Frozen's main character Elsa a girlfriend instead of pairing her with the traditional prince charming partner typical in fairy tales. However, an equally zealous group of fans is urging Disney not to give in to the so-called 'absurd' pro-gay activists in a counter-petition online.

The planned sequel to the highest grossing animated movie of all time has recently attracted the attention of LGBT activists since 2013 who are calling for greater representation of gay-oriented characters in Hollywood movies.

To heighten the intensity of the debate, LGBT advocate Alexis Isabel took the social media her message of support to make Elsa come out of the closet signed with a hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend that went viral online. A similar #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend hashtag campaign was also launched in support of LGBT representation in the films.

Adding a morale boost to the LGBT campaign, Idina Menzel, the voice behind Elsa, also voiced her support for the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend campaign in a recent interview.

"I think it's great. Disney's just gotta contend with that. I'll let them figure that out," the voice actress said adding that she would lend her full support in giving Elsa a lesbian character in the next installment 'no matter what', Crossmap reported.

In response to the perceived 'homosexualization' of children in popular culture, conservative voices in the United States have been campaigning to reverse the online gains of the LGBT activists. Led primarily by Christian religious advocates, the social conservatives talked about the dangers of LGBT plot in Disney movies as a morally frightening to children.

"I think, wholesale happening across this country in the next two, three, four, five, 10 years. Of course, Frozen, and is going to get Elsa a girlfriend, eventually...That's the way you destroy an entire civilization. The entire social system of the United States of America is collapsing," said right-wing pastor Kevin Swanson as quoted by Chatt Sports Net.
