James Bond Rumor: Daniel Craig May Be Replaced By Jamie Bell
James Bond has been an enduring character in the last 50 years, with Daniel Craig, the most recent actor for the role considered to be among the "best" in the franchise, in spite of the film's departures from the earlier 007 tone. However, now rumours whisper that Craig will not return to the series.
While rumours of popular replacements such as Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Tom Hardy have been thrown up, a new name that has been suggested is a bit of a surprise.
According to a recent report, British actor Jamie Bell has had a meeting with longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli in order to talk about his role in the movie. They have worked together in earlier films such as "Film Stars Don't Die", and Bell played Craig's brother in a World War II drama "Defiance" in 2008.
Bell at 30 years is younger than most 'Bonds' who have acted in the movie earlier. Still, as the next film is expected to be released only after two or three years, he might well get on par.
Bell's featuring in the movie would be quite a surprise to many as other names have received greater pedigrees, star power as well as appreciation. Even though Bell is expected to tackle the role effectively, his role would be unexpected.
However, like other reports and speculations around the Bond movie, this could be just another rumour. As it is not officially confirmed that Craig is leaving, it may not even be true.
Time may just roll the ball either way.
