Arrow Season 3 Spoilers: Team Arrow to be without most important piece for multiple episodes; Two stars to return

Two fan favorites will be making their return to "Arrow" in the second half of Season 3.

Peter Stromare will reprise his role as Vertigo and Caity Lotz will be back as the Black Canary, according to TVLine.

"It's an episode where a lot of things that we've been doing and setting up during the season really sort of come together," executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells the website.

"It's not a 'climactic' kind of episode, but there's a feeling of a big payoff by the end of it," the EP also said.

The two characters will return in episode 13, titled "Canaries." Could this speak to the transition of the old Canary (Sara) the new the Canary (Laurel)?

The season finale ended with the a battle between Oliver and Rha's al Ghul - a battle that ended with Oliver taking a sword thru the ribs and being kicked off a cliff by Rha's. So the question becomes, how will Oliver recover from what would normally be a fatal wound?

Before you start thinking the Arrow will make a speedy recovery and be back with his team during the midseason premiere, hold your horses.

According to EOnline, the rest of team Arrow - Felicity, Roy and Diggle - may spend multiple episodes without Oliver.

As for how Oliver will recover, there has been many speculation there will be a Lazarus' pit appearance. Now if you're like me - a TV fan but not a comic book aficionado - then you might want to do some research. According to Wikipedia, Lazarus pit is a pool of restorative chemicals that was actually discovered by Rha's al Ghul. We're hoping Oliver makes his way to that pool (since it would be sort of hard to have a show if he died).

"Arrow" returns Wednesday, January 21 on The CW.
