MacBook Pro 2016 Rumors: OLED Keyboard, Slim Design and Other Radical Changes Apple Could Make

MacBook Pro 2016 could be the most radical design change ever that Apple made to its laptops in recent times, believes reputed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has a strong record of predictions and analysis about all things Apple.

Kuo's analysis, reported earlier this week, is in-line with speculation doing the round; Apple would introduce a 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook upgrades with Touch ID feature usable through an iPhone. These upgrades would be the most significant that the Pro line of computers has ever had.

"While long overlooked, the MacBook line is the brightest spot for Apple's 2016 rollouts. This is particularly true of the two new MacBook Pro models, to be introduced in 4Q16, as they will have a thinner and lighter form factor, Touch ID, use OLED display touch bar (to replace physical function keys, located above the keyboard) and adopt USB- C / Thunderbolt 3," Kuo reportedly said.

The MacBook Pro is expected to borrow its design from the revamped MacBook, replete with the butterfly mechanism keyboard and metal injected mold-made hinges, MacRumors reports. Touch ID, AMD/NVDIA Graphics, Retina Display and bumped up RAM are all part of the speculation.

Kuo also predicts Apple would introduce OLED touch console to replace the function keys atop the keyboard. Besides improving functionality and aesthetics, this may pave the way for more comfortable keys on the keyboard; Apple's butterfly mechanism did not find the fan following it hoped for.

The analyst claimed changes to the market positioning of the devices. According to Kuo, Apple could turn existing MacBook Air into an entry-level device and offer the MacBook as mid-level option with MacBook Pro as top-of-line laptop.
