The curtains have come down on Season 12 of 'Grey's Anatomy' and it is still a long time before the next season starts airing but it cannot keep fans from speculating and wishing.

And for all the fans awaiting the thirteenth season, here is some good news. One character will return to her alma mater and according to reports, it is Dr. Callie Torres! She joins the list of those rare characters that have reappeared on the show after bidding Grey Sloan goodbye. Creator Shonda Rhimes revealed this secret at the Vulture Festival.

She said that actress Sara Ramirez (who plays Callie) has a very good chance of returning. She also referred to her departure as a break and said that it was her idea to bid goodbye to Callie. She further explained that Sara came to her asking for a break and it was not planned at all.

Notably, the twelfth season saw Callie going through some major turmoil. She fought a bitter battle with Arizona for Sofia's custody, which went against her. But the dust settled at the end and Arizona let her go. Callie left for New York along with daughter Sofia to live with Penny.

Season 13 will also witness some good deal of drama revolving around the major character Meredith who seems to have fallen for Nathan. The only trouble is that her half-sister Maggie also likes him and feels he reciprocates her affection.

April and Jackson too have a lot to explore as they became parents at the end of the twelfth season and fans really want a reunion for them. But Alex and Jo do not seem to be set for a smooth sailing as she has turned down his proposal. She also revealed that she is running away from her abusive husband. When Alex finds out this secret, tension is sure to brew.

As for Arizona, she is left alone after Callie's departure and some new love interest might appear for her. However, most fans are rooting for a final Callie-Arizona reunion and spoilers strongly indicate towards it.
