'The Door' was a brilliantly written episode as no one could ever think it would blow away viewers' mind and evoke tears simultaneously.

The loyal and sweet Hodor, who no one ever thought much of, emerged as a superhero. A half-wit trapped in the body of a giant man, he was one of those rare characters in the show who personified innocence and loyalty. Hodor held the door valiantly to protect Bran from the White Walkers and met his destiny at the cave door, explaining poignantly the meaning of his name.

Viewers also got to know the mystery of the White Walkers. The Frankenstein Monsters were created by the children of the forest to protect themselves from humans. But little did they know, their invention would become outright murderers. All the children had to sacrifice their lives when the murderers came walking to destroy the cave. Bran's direwolf Summer also laid down its life, protecting its master.

The heartbreaking sacrifices were really tragic but relief came when Jorah proclaimed his love for Daenerys and revealed his greyscale. The Mother of Dragons realized what a great lover he had been throughout. One, whom she never acknowledged and when she did, it was too late. But thankfully, Jorah was forgiven and got more than what he had hoped for.

Sansa had a word with Littelfinger and chastised him severely for marrying her off to Ramsay. Her evolution into a mature and headstrong woman was definitely appreciable. And when she played her cards smartly, lying to Jon about Brynden Blackfish's victory and planning with Davos to rally the support of Northern houses, everyone realized she is becoming a player.

The new Red Priestess Kinvara made her entry, leaving Varys shocked and Tyrion intrigued. Euron Greyjoy snatched the throne from Yara like a true bully and she decided to leave the Iron Islands with her brother Theon.
