The original single-shooter game has catapulted FPS into mainstream gaming and even dominated the industry for at least a decade or so. When Doom was first released in the 90's, it was the pinnacle of masculine expression for raw power and brutishness. And for those who have quite remembered the pure adrenaline fun from exhilarating bloody shooting campaigns, Doom was insanely satisfying.

Now, the latest Doom title from id Software revives the amusing and hectic old-school shooting spree with modern tweaks borrowed from latest modern design conventions and technology as per Giant Bomb. The 2016 reboot and back to basics nature of the game is a homage to its legendary founders' original creation. The game which has recently come out for PS 4, Xbox One, and PC will definitely turn humanity upside down.

"It's an incredibly fast, gruesome, ridiculous game. It's a game about killing demons on Mars, and then in Hell, and then back on Mars once again. It's a game about shooting missiles at floating demon heads and laughing as the demon heads explode into thousands of bloody pieces," said Ben Gilbert of Tech Insider.

The whole game is more than a mere nostalgic revival. The game is quintessentially a rebirth and a re-imagining of the 1993 classic that glorifies speed and bloody violence. So let's take a look at the essential attributes of the game that seems to create a lot of fascinating disruption among gamers both old and young alike based on Wired Magazine's review of the said game:

1. Dark-inspired designs- The birth of Doom was a result of an intersection of various concepts brought into life by John Carmack (programmer), Adrian Carmack (artist), and John Romero (level designer) who all combined elements from Wolfenstein, the Evil Dead 2's monstrous gore, and the technological savagery exhibited in the movie Aliens by James Cameron.

2. Gore-inspired Gospel- The whole plot is straightforward and clearly simply. There is no cheesy mega-storyline with a bunch of Easter eggs to hunt. The objective is mainly to 'rip and tear' through fast-paced combat against a horde of aggressive demons which forces players to a sudden burst of adrenaline rush for every massive attack that happens throughout the game.

3. Community Spirit- The 1993 Doom succeeded not simply on its simple mantra of violence within a single-shooter gaming experience. Just like the original, the Doom 2016 will tap on the community aspect of the game by featuring networked multiplayer plus a level editor feature to enable players for some modding action.

The original Doom was more than a piece of relic from the dustbin of video game history. Only a few games have reached a status of immortality that transcends across generations to become a truly cultural icon in the digital computing age. And Doom 2016 is its renaissance.
