White House On Lockdown After Man Fires, Secret Service Shoots Him
Secret Service officers shot a man who allegedly opened fire at the White House Friday.
Even as the shots were fired, the White House and Treasury Department were put on lockdown. The U.S. Park Police that is in charge of the security of the area tweeted that a shooting occurred at West Executive Drive after 3 p.m.

During the alteration, President Barack Obama was out at a golf game at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland but Vice-President Joe Biden was inside the complex.
The West Executive Drive acts as a separation between the West Wing offices from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is home to additional offices for the Executive Office of the President, including the vice president's ceremonial office.
Many Secret Service snipers were alerted and active on the White House roof with their guns fixed on the particular region of the shooting while reporters in the White House briefing room took shelter in the basement as told.
Reports said that the suspect displayed a weapon near a security checkpoint.
Early on Friday afternoon, Secret Service cleared the White House North Lawn, Pennsylvania Avenue, and Lafayette as part of an "ongoing security incident." Officers drew their guns and briefed reporters that they should go inside.
