MacBook Pro 2016 Rumors And Release Date: Touch ID, Siri, Retina Display and WWDC Launch

If rumors about the MacBook Pro 2016 prove true, it could be a laptop unlike any we have seen

For one, speculation suggests Apple is planning to revolutionize the way laptops obtain inputs by introducing a keyboard without keys. These rumors courtesy, a patent that emerged earlier this year suggests that key-less keyboard would auger well for laptops. While revolutionary, a keyboard without keys presents a huge learning curve for most users.

Consequently, questions about performing basic functions like unlocking the computer are being asked. Reports that seek to answer such questions claim that Apple could introduce Touch ID and support for it in OS X. Touch ID was introduced in the iPhone 5S. Interestingly, laptops will have to borrow an iPhone's fingerprint. The implication is that iPhones hooked to a MacBook Pro 2016 can unlock the laptop!

Prospective buyers waiting to buy a MacBook Pro have held off purchase anticipating this year's launch. Apple's March 21 event was disappointing as it did not see the laptop emerge. The talk is Apple could unveil the device at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled June 13-17 in San Francisco.

What we know so far includes introduction of Intel Skylake processors, two screen-size versions, thunderbolt 3, USB C support and AMD/NVDIA graphics. Apple's Retina display has been eclipsed by Android phone makers and it won't be long before high-res display on laptops becomes the norm. If recent reports prove true, screen resolutions of MacBook Pro 2016 could be as high as 4K.

Other speculation about the laptop includes support for Siri, the iPhone virtual assistant, in OS X 10.12. This could be a cue from wide acceptance of Windows 10 virtual assistant Cortana.
