NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1080 Review: What Gamers Should Know

Just recently, leading graphics-card designers NVIDIA appears to be making a quantum technological leap that will surely redefine graphics card performance with its latest generation flagship GeForce card, the GTX 1080.

Overall, GeForce GTX 1080 appears to be more powerful than existing graphics card in the market for a much lower price. According to ARS Technica, it is now the world's fastest graphics card. It is reportedly 35%-62% faster than either Titan X or the seemingly inefficient GTX 980 Ti.

As per Anand Tech, GeForce GTX 1080 is the first-ever 16nm/14nm-based video card created based on NVIDIA's new Pascal architecture and built using TSMC's 16nm FinFET process. As a result, NVIDIA's time-honored fashion of starting high-end has just set the latest benchmark for single-GPU performance.

Below is a summarized review of the graphic card's specs and features that truly make it a revolutionary video card in the market today that suits in today's increasing demand for high-end and fast PC gaming as per PC World:

1. Speed- Geforce GTX 1080 is insanely fast with Pascal graphics processor at the heart of its tech genius. According to some observations, the card could even outpace its predecessor, the GTX 980, to as much as 70%. It has a powerful kick for most 1440p and 4K gaming and even outrageously faster for 1080p setups.

2. Efficiency- When it comes to energy efficiency, Geforce GTX 1080 merely uses 180 watts of power with a single 8-pin power connector (slightly more than GTX 980's 165W requirement) but unexpectedly lower than either Titan X's 250W or AMD Fury X's 275W energy requirement over 6-pin and 8-pin connectors.

3. New technology- Quite surprisingly, Geforce GTX 1080's Pascal GPU has accelerated by two process generations than most video graphics card available in the market today.
