Tim Tebow Rumors and News: Denver Broncos Quarterback Inspires Students as Guest Speaker at Greenville News High School Sports Awards
The Greenville News high school sports awards took place on Monday at the TD Convention Center. The Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Tim Tebow arrived as the guest speaker at the event.
The event honoured two-sport standout at Greer High, Troy Pride, as the Male Athlete of the Year. Pride has just won four events at the Class AAA state track meet two days ago. On the other hand, Sierra Foster from Wade Hampton, a soccer and basketball champ, was presented with the Female Athlete of the Year award.
Pride, who is scheduled to play football at Notre Dame, said that the award wraps up his high school career. He said that he is thankful for everything that made him stand for this position and that the talents he have been given till date are his real blessings.
The guest speaker at the event, Tebow, addressed a crowd of more than 220 athletes and bestowed his blessings on them. Even though Tebow has played just a few NFL seasons, he has been successful in maintaining and strengthening his reputation by fulfilling certain off-field endeavors, including the establishment of Tim Tebow Foundation.
The foundation aims to fill the lives of people in need with hope, love and faith. Tebow, on the other hand, is determined to fill light in the lives of such people who currently live in their darkest hour of need.
During his speech at the sports awards, Tebow shared how the students of today should be more than just athletes. He advised athletes to be what they can be and use the platform to impact those who are in need.
He urged athletes to be more than just the sports and excel in the sphere of life that exists beyond the playing field. Tebow further said that championships don't last forever in life, but what you do and how you make a difference in other's life is something that lasts till the end of life.
