When the news about Apple Watch 2 design came out, many fans were visibly disappointed. However, the fans are speculating that even though the design remains unchanged, there will be a lot of new features that will make Apple Watch 2 an improved version of the last one.

While Apple reportedly confirmed that its Watch 2 will have the same design, they also mentioned that there will be a lot of new features than the old Apple Watch. In fact, Apple CEO, Tim Cook revealed in an interview that the company doing all it can to make it better than its previous versions. He even insisted that it is a must-buy watch with price starting from $299.

Slated for September 2016 release, the new Watch 2 will allow the users to connect their device over cellular network. This means that the upcoming Watch 2 will be able to send messages, make calls, receive notifications and even use Apple Pay without being tethered to an iPhone.

"The smartwatch is now a category waiting for a market. Newer devices have offered more polished looks and subtly different functions, but no large changes in device capabilities or usage," James Moar wrote on his report. With smartwatch functions established, it is now up to consumers to decide if they want them, rather than technology companies providing more reasons."

A special OS has been designed, Watch OS 2.2, for the upcoming Apple Watch 2 which will be equipped with a feature that will come especially handy during emergency situations, "Care Event Detection and Alerts."

"An occurrence of one or more "care events" is detected by an electronic device monitoring environmental data and/or user data from one or more sensors," the U.S. Patent Trademark Office website description read. "The electronic device transmits one or more alerts regarding the detected occurrence to at least one other electronic device."
