Unfazed by the hack that reportedly led to compromise of over 7 million Minecraft Pocket Edition gamers, the game's testing is marching ahead. Following successful completion of alpha testing, rumors a beta have begun doing the rounds.

Speculation is rife that beta-testing could start this month. The alpha of 0.15.0 was released just a while ago with Minecraft Realms that was widely appreciated. The beta is expected to let fans test more of the features rumored to be part of 0.15.0, which include horses, archer mobs, biome-based villages and a lot more. Minecraft has officially not announced a sign-up for the beta yet.

Alpha testing of 0.15.0 helped users experience Realms, a server facility that allowed up to 10 players traverse worlds any time of the day irrespective of their gaming platform. The service, which is accessible for a price, may let as many as 200 players enter a world in the final version of the release.

MCPE Realms has generated a lot of interest in the game as it allows gamers to create and manage their own worlds called Realms. Many have tested Realms and reported issues including frame rate dropping and phones slowdown.

Minecraft is among most popular smartphone games of the day, ranking consistently at the top on the Apple's most popular iPhone paid apps list. The game's gameplay in VR has also been received positively, adding to its popularity. Reviews have suggested that the Gear VR Edition offers real thrills in both game-play modes.

In other Minecraft news, game-maker Mojang has announced an upward revision in prices of the game's PC edition to accommodate changed currency exchange values.
