The Winds of Winter' Release Date, News & Update [SPOILERS]: New Chapter Revealed by George RR Martin; New Characters Introduced That Are Not Featured on ‘GoT’

Needless to say, the fans have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of "The Winds of Winter." To appease his fans and make up for the delay, George RR Martin announced an update for his upcoming book on his blog.

"And... because I know how much bitching I'd get if I offered a new sample from Wild Cards without also doing one from A SONG OF ICE & FIRE," George RR Martin wrote on his blog. "We've also changed the WINDS OF WINTER sample on my website, replacing the Alayne chapter that's been there for the past year with one featuring Arianne Martell. (Some of you may have heard me read this one at cons)."

As far as the book spoilers are concerned, Martin hints about the Sand Snakes, Ellaria Sand, Prince Doran and Darkstar. Even though the sample chapter will give you a sneak peek into the book, the fans will have to wait a while longer to read more.

While Martin has been kind enough to share the sample chapter of "The Winds of Winter," this doesn't mean that the book is complete as the author is still working on it. "And no, just to spike any bullshit rumors, changing the sample chapter does NOT mean I am done. See the icon up above? Monkey is still on my back... but he's growing, he is, and one day," Martin wrote.
