Giant spider photobombs a BBC reporter in Scotland (VIDEO)

Viewers of BBC Scotland on Wednesday morning did not only see the latest news, but they also got a closeup shot of a spider.

As BBC Scotland presenter Graham Stewart presented the day's news, a small insect could be seen in the top right hand corner of the screen, evidently trapped in a spider's web on the camera lens.

Depending on your perspective, the "giant" spider seemed equal to the size of news anchor Graham Stewart's head - or about the length of the middle span of one of downtown Glasgow's bridges over the River Clyde, in the background.

He later tweeted: "Never mind the pandas: giant hungry spider invades Reporting Scotland at breakfast time!"

A post on the BBC Scotland Facebook introducing the video read: "VIDEO.... but first a warning - if you are scared of spiders this will FREAK YOU RIGHT OUT! We have a remote control camera on the roof which shows the live feed you see behind our newsreaders on Reporting Scotland....sometimes arachnid pals set up home there....."
