The Charlotte Hornets are reportedly shopping Lance Stephenson, who became eligible for trade this Monday. The Hornets signed Stephenson as a free agent during the summer. However, due to a slow start, Stephenson's role with the Hornets could come to an end.

Although a trade is not imminent, here are five teams that Stephenson could be headed for:

1. Indiana Pacers

Stephenson could return to the Indiana Pacers, who picked the 24-year-old in the 2010 NBA draft. The rumors are that the Pacers have engaged in trade talks with the Hornets and reportedly want to acquire Stephenson with a first round pick.

In addition to these rumors, Pacers owner, Herb Simon said to Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star that he would be okay with bringing Stephenson back as long as Larry Bird agrees.

Simon stated, "I'd be OK with it but it's not up to me. Larry (Bird) has to decide if he fits."

The Pacers (8-17) could surely use the help.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have gone through many ups and downs this season. After the practice video of Kobe Bryant's rant to his fellow teammates went viral, the Lakers have started to win more games. However, the team still needs a lot of rebuilding before they can become a threat. One option that the Lakers could turn to is Stephenson, who would be a good fit for the Lakers as well as the fans.

3. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are another team that is supposedly interested in Stephenson. The team has been looking to make a move to revive their team and Stephenson could be just that. On top of that, head coach Brian Shaw, who used to be an assistant coach for the Pacers, has a good working relationship with Stephenson.

4. Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers could use a player like Stephenson. The Clippers reportedly want to add another playmaker to their roster and Stephenson's fast pace style makes him a good candidate.

5. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are in dire need of a change with the way they have been playing this season. By bringing in Stephenson, the Knicks could potentially turn their season around. Stephenson's pace would compliment Carmelo Anthony.

Stephenson averages 10.3 points with 4.9 assists and seven rebounds in 33.1 minutes.
