Whenever the transfer window opens, it is Real Madrid who are almost always linked to the world's best and most valuable players and more often than not, they are successful in bringing those players to the Santiago Bernabau Stadium; an arena which has seen some of the biggest names in football ply their trade week in and week out. And as such, they have been regarded as one of the richest clubs in the world with a commercial arm which is as effective as its illustrious and it is not a surprise that like in the previous years, it has topped the FORBES Magazine 'rich list' for the year 2016.

According to the study conducted by Forbes, the club is currently worth £2.52 billion, which is marginally more than their arch rivals Barcelona's £2.46 billion at the 2nd spot. However, what is even more interesting is that Real Madrid is also the 2nd most valuable sports in the whole world, across all sports and finished second to the American football franchise Dallas Cowboys who are valued at a whopping £2.77 billion. The ranking takes into account the brand value of the club, revenues, TV deals, sponsorships, social media valuations and the sort of players that the club can attract. Real Madrid's revenues for the year was £480 million, which again places it in the 1st position among all the heavy hitters of Europe.

The increment in the total value of all the top 10 teams combined has been pegged at 24% and it is linked with the fact that several clubs signed new TV deals that would boost their revenues further in the years to come. Clubs from the English Premier League found the highest representation with 6 clubs, while Bayern Munich and Juventus are the only clubs from Germany and Italy to have made the list.

Here is the complete list: -
