Better Late Than Never, Foursquare For iPad Is Here
Foursquare is finally available on the iPad. The app is launched several months after Foursquare split its service in two - check-ins via a new Swarm app - and turning the main Foursquare app into straight discovery service.
"Since the new Foursquare came out a few months ago, people have been telling us that they do a lot of their planning on their iPad, and they want a version of Foursquare designed just for it," the Foursquare team wrote in a blog post. "Today, that version is ready."
The new iPad app is the "best way to plan your holiday travels", it added. Simply choose a city and you'll get a personalized list of places to check out. Like the iPhone version, you can save a cool place to your itinerary with one tap.
Foursquare app slowly learns what you like and based on your past preferences, it tailors searches and recommendations. The new app for iPad also contains a section highlighting all the top picks in your area.
"Using all of Foursquare's data, it suggests places that are newly popular, up-and-coming, and local mainstays," Foursquare said. "It also has suggestions for travel destinations; from must-see sights to hidden gems in most of the largest cities and neighborhoods around the world."
You can download the Foursquare iPad app from App Store.
