Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War" busted the box office this weekend, beating the previous "Captain America" openings as well as fellow superhero juggernauts of 2016---"Deadpool" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The numbers have been awesome as well as big. In February, "Deadpool" debuted to a surprising $132 million when it opened. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" in late March took in $166 million, and finally "Captain America: Civil War" was the winner with $181 million domestic.

It is also a good haul for a fifth all-time queued "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" ($247 million), "Jurassic World" ($208 million) and both "Avengers" films ($207 million, 2012, $191 million, 2015).

With high numbers, "Captain America: Civil War" could probably be the "highest-grossing non-Avengers comic book film in history."

In the overseas markets too, "Civil War" has raked in $496.6 million, while "Captain America: Civil War" has finished two weeks with $678.39 million. This has totalled to mindblowing winnings in a short period. Currently, "Civil War" seems to be toppling the final box office totals for "Batman v Superman" and will have its own run with $1 billion. Hence, the sole non-"Avengers" film that crossed the total for Marvel is "Iron Man 3."

Other Walt Disney successes include "The Jungle Book" that was second at the box office this weekend, with about $21 million. While it took $284.9 million in America, it brought in $491.2 million overseas for a total of $776.2 million and counting.

Another winner was "Zootopia" that was in the top 10 during its 10th weekend. It will finish with between $330 and $340 million domestic and $950 million worldwide.

Hence, the Walt Disney studios has covered $1 billion domestic in just 128 days, overtaking the earlier record of 165 days. It has already reached $3.341 billion worldwide.
