NBA Rumors: Cavs Scores 25 3-Pointers, Sets NBA Record

When it comes to three-pointer savvy shooters, the Golden State Warriors may face a tough contender in Cleveland Cavaliers should the two face each other in the best-of-seven finals for this season's championship title. Why so? Well, it appears that the Cavs has just made an NBA 25 three-pointer record in a single game- the highest in both regular and playoff games in the history of the league.

For a moment, Hawk forward Paul Millsap thought he saw ghosts flew past him as three-point shots came from just about every corner effectively routing Atlanta Hawks as the Cavs secured their second win in the best-of-seven series in the second round of playoffs.

"What happened? Not a clue," answered Millsap who appeared utterly clueless on what happened after the Cleveland Cavaliers just made history sending the Hawks into a 2-0 deficit in the semifinal series, ESPN reported.

"A lot of 3s ... I don't know what else to say. I am still speechless. I'm a man who believes anything is possible. And the impossible happened tonight."

It took everyone by surprise after the Hawks looked terribly helpless as the score cap widened with each three-point shot. Their 123-98 loss to the Cavaliers is indicative of how Cleveland is poised to make Curry and the defending champion Warriors think of them with their historic 3-pointer avalanche.

"Tonight was a special night for all of us who played. This league has seen so many great teams, so many great players and great shooters and for us to set an all-time record is truly special," said Cavs star player LeBron James as he explained how his team played the way they did in Game 2, Fox Sports reported.

For his part, James contributed four 3-pointers and scored 27-points. At least 10 of the team's players were able to make at least one 3.

"When they put those shots down, I don't know if anyone can beat them, to be honest," said Kyle Korver of Atlanta Hawks, a deadly shooter himself as per Sportsnet. "We were hoping that they'd start missing at some point."

Unfortunately for the stunned Hawks, the Cavs never flinched and missed.
