'American Crime Story' Season 2 Rumors, News & Update: Hurricane Katrina to Be the New Theme; Will Follow ‘People Vs OJ Simpson’

According to reports, executive producer Nina Jacobson appeased reservations about comparison between "People Vs OJ Simpson" and Hurricane Katrina. Jacobson said that the hurricane lacks the sensationalism that "People Vs OJ Simpson" has.

However, she also pointed out that Hurricane Katrina is necessary to introduce the suspense elements that "People Vs OJ Simpson" doesn't have. Brad Simpson, executive producer, further explained that viewers will not be able to speculate the events and outcome of "American Crime Story" season 2. The show fans will not know till the end who lives and dies in the hurricane.

The one thing that the fans can expect from "American Crime Story" season 2 is the promise to take a well-known plot and tweak it just enough to give it a fresh perspective. With Hurricane Katrina, fans will start caring about the season 2 of the show.

Reports indicate that the Hurricane Katrina script for season 2 is already in the process. The new season will follow certain people that will redefine the crime dimension. The director of "American Crime Story," Anthony Hemingway, insisted that their perspective on Hurricane Katrina will be very different from Treme. "I think it will have as much of an impact and be as effective as 'O.J.,'but untraditionally," he added.

While the star cast is yet to be finalized, John Travolta, playing John Shapiro in the first season has expressed his interest in being a part of the series again for its second season.
