X-Men Apocalypse News, Rumors and Updates: Taylor Swift May Appear As Dazzler in Film

Rumors are swirling back and forth regarding Taylor Swifts purported cameo appearance as Dazzler in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. To the unfamiliar, Dazzler is the singing mutant in the Marvel universe with the power to turn sound waves to light blasts.

The speculation regarding the Shake It Off performer probably stemmed from a Toronto Suns report on her rumored role as Dazzler in the movie slated to hit the theaters later in May. In the movie's trailer, the young Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) appears in a records store with young Cyclops while holding a copy of Dazzler's album.

Coincidentally, Swift's 2014 album is titled '1989' and the 'X-Men: Apocalypse' is set sometime in the 80's too hinting the pop star's silver screen appearance.

Moreover, X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg also shared a snap on social media of their film shooting in Canada showing Taylor Swift with Apocalypse casts Sophie Turner and James McAvoy. Although no caption suggests a cameo appearance on the upcoming film, it's more than enough to send fans into a frenzied speculation over Swift's participation.

However, Gossip Cop refutes the recent swirling rumors calling them 'baseless' and even criticizes some media outfits for spreading such a highly speculative report without doing basic fact-checking.

"The photo of Swift with the screenwriter and stars of X-Men: Apocalypse has nothing to do with her possibly making a cameo. Swift was in Montreal at the same time the film was shooting there, but she was in Canada for one of her 1989 shows, which Kinberg, McAvoy and Turner attended and with whom the singer later hung out," wrote Michael Lewittes of Gossip Cop.

Also, Turner also corroborated Swift's story debunking baseless speculations that are making rounds online as fans highly anticipate for the movie's release this month.

"We just went to her concert and then I guess she wanted to meet us and we really wanted to meet her so we just hung out with her for a bit. Played a couple of drinking games. It was awesome," said Turner as quoted by International Business Times.
