'Sherlock Holmes 3' New, & Update: Production for the Film To Start This Year Under New Screenwriter, Says Robert Downey Jr.

If you love all things Sherlock, then this piece of news is for you. Recent reports have indicated that the third installment of the popular movie series may just be underway. This time the famous British detective will return in "Sherlock Holmes 3."

According to reports, James Coyne has come onboard to rewrite the third installment of the movie where Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. will reprise their roles as Dr. Watson and Sherlock Holmes, respectively. Guy Ritchie will be the director of the film.

The "Iron Man" actor is already in the talks to bring the film to fruition. "We're talking about it right now. Now. I can't wait. ... We can do some preliminary stuff. ... I know Guy Ritchie loves me as much as I love him - and he damn well should," Robert Downey Jr. said.

The production of "Sherlock Holmes 3" is set to begin this year, said Downey Jr. "When we're making those 'Sherlock' movies it is off the hook. We'll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I'm tired all the time, but I'm excited about it," he added.

According to previous reports, "Sherlock Holmes 3" is confirmed. Downey Jr. reportedly posted a photo of himself holding what looks like a cane in the photo, his caption read, "Master of disguise..."

In another interview, Robert Downey Jr. expressed interest in doing one more Iron Man film. But will it affect the third "Sherlock Holmes?"
