The fate of Jon Snow, which was a secret, was revealed in the second episode of the Game of Thrones.

The revelation though was awaited by many fans and followers, was much on the expected lines. Quite similar to how Thoros of Myr imparted life into Beric Dondarrion, Melisandre used the power of Lord of Light R'hllor to infuse life into Jon Snow, cancelling any creative twists or unexpected revelations.

It was one of an event which had an immense built up, with a pretty simple end. All it took was a half-hearted recitation of a magical rhyme to impart life to Jon Snow and bring him back to life. When Melisandre was washing the wounds on Jon Snow, there were fans that doubted on the chances of her success, and believed that there would be some drama involved in the opening of the long kept secret. This, however, was not the case when Jon Snow suddenly woke up from the slumber of death.

Despite the predictability of the revelation, it did prove successful. This has added more spice to the show with fans contemplating on whether the character "Jon Snow" would remain the same after reincarnating as he was in the last season. Going by the history of the 'Game of Thrones', there is no one who has been brought back to life without losing any of their integral characteristics. In addition to that, what would be the driving factor for Jon Snow? Would he follow the same mission which led him to lose his life, or would his new purpose be more inclined to his family? Or, would Jon play the same characterization as Azor Ahai who after rebirth went ahead to defeat the White Walkers?

Jon's resurrection, marking the third shift in power, would definitely spice up the plot of the show.
