Xiaomi have now announced that their new Gold Edition for the Mi 5 is due somewhere this week. It's all set to launch the 29th of the month in standard and high-variant versions. This new color will not be made available for their "pro" variant. Xiaomi also pointed out that the rear for this new color would be made out of 3D glass and not ceramic.

Xiaomi have really confused the smart phone world with naming their different variant phones with different phones. But the majority of the world would definitely be receiving the Gold variant phone and India might not be in the list due to the fact that Xiaomi only sells the base variant of the new model.

The phone powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset clocked at around 1.8ghz supported by Adreno 530 GPU and running on either 4GB or 3GB of memory will cost the smart phone users a price of around 400$. The only pros of the price are the fact that users can chose storage and memory needs according to will. The new color variant will be live after the announcement was made on a third-party site. The new phone model will either come with the standard Snapdragon 820SoC along with Adreno 530GPU and 3GB of ram or either an over-clocked chip at 2.15GHz of Snapdragon 820 chipset with Adreno GPU 510 and 3GB of RAM.

The price for the new phone might be around 355$ or 305$ both being US dollars depending upon the choice of hardware the user wants. There is a rumored white colored model of the Mi5 but this will be exclusive to the Mi5 pro featuring 3D glass-back also supposed to be on sale on the same sale-day for 400$. The smart phone world will be waiting to see as to how a single color-additional with versatile hardware configurations might affect their sales considering the point that the Chinese mobile maker firm strictly concentrates on budget.
