New York Knicks Injury Report: Iman Shumpert Dislocates Shoulder
The New York Knicks were able to overpower the Boston Celtics, 101-95, earning their fifth win of the season. The win, however, came at a cost. Knicks' guard Iman Shumpert had to leave the game in the second quarter after dislocating his shoulder.
"He was in pain but the first thing he said was go get this win," Knicks coach Derek Fisher said according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York. "We don't want to jeopardize the remaining part of his season, so we'll have to see."
Shumpert reportedly will undergo an MRI on Saturday. The extent of his injury is still unclear. Despite being in pain, Shumpert was in high spirits, stating: "I'm just happy we won. If I've got to separate my shoulder or dislocate my shoulder to get wins, I'll dislocate it every game."
He added, according to the New York Post, "We'll see, I think I'm a pretty strong guy so hopefully all the weights I lifted this summer paid off and it will be a simple dislocation and I'll be rehabbing it back."
Shumpert started all 25 games of the season so far. He averages 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 26 minuets.
With Shumpert out indefinitely, the Knicks could turn to Tim Hardaway Jr. to fill that spot.
