The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Air Date, News & Spoilers: Paul Wesley will Exit the Show After Season 8; Nina Dobrev to Make a Comeback
Recent reports say that Paul Wesley will allegedly exit "The Vampire Diaries." The news indicates that he is left with no other choice but to quit the show after season 8. Ian Somerhalder has also already notified that season 8 will be his last on "The Vampire Diaries." Now that the show's leading star cast has decided to quit, it it rumored that the popular series will have to be cancelled.
Julie Plec, the show producer, said in an interview that the show's fate relies on not just her but also its stars such as Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Does that mean that the show is about to end for good?
"I finally realized that my destiny on this show, creatively, is tied in to Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. And I mean it in a really good way. As long as those boys who I now consider my friends want to keep telling the story, then I won't walk away from telling the story," Plec told the publication.
There were also previous reports that "The Vampire Diaries" is not ending because of Ian Somerhalder's exit and his subsequent tweet that led the fans to believe it to be the end of series. He clarified that while this is his last season, it is definitely not the case for the series. However, the question is, in absence of Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, will it still be as popular as it is right now?
Meanwhile, according to news reports, Nina Dobrev is said to make a comeback in the show just to finish Elena's story. Whereas other sources suggest that Dobrev is waiting for Somerhalder's exit to return to the series.
