Rockets is already tensed In a not-so-surprising turn of events this season, rumor mills have constantly churned out speculations of a possible departure of center Dwight Howard from Houston Rockets by opting out of his contract and become a free agent this offseason.

If Howard does leave this free agency season, he may go back to Orlando for reunion with Magic, or get traded somewhere else with teams like Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers and Charlotte Hornets.

with a seemingly brewing feud between James Harden and Dwight Howard which could implode any time and get in the way of winning. Since Harden is extremely frustrated with Howard's recent gameplay lately, the latter might just get traded off following the team's dismal performance on the court partly due to Howard slacking off somewhere in the game.

"Harden, who has the ear of Rockets owner Leslie Alexander and general manager Daryl Morey, is a mixture of many things. He's aloof, has a dry sense of humor and a passion for winning. His frustration over losing bothers him greatly," wrote Calvin Watkins of ESPN.

"While Howard is irked by not getting the ball as often as he would like, it is Harden who is dismayed by the center. He wishes Howard would demand the ball and not goof around so much. Howard's personality -- bubbly, friendly, warm -- often can rub guarded people such as Harden the wrong way."

Harden's dismay over Howard's lackluster performance and his team's overall losing gameplay was recently aggravated by the team's recent 121-94 loss to Golden State Warriors even without Stephen Curry on the court. Furthermore, fans observed that Harden seemed the only one interested in winning while the rest of his team's talented co-players seemed just too unmotivated.

"Terrible way, terrible way, terrible way to lose," said Harden after their loss to the Warriors as quoted by Gospel Herald.

He further noted saying, "That's kind of how it's been all season long. It's frustrating. We will get over that hump, will play well and play a really good third quarter and things are different. It's frustrating, but we still have an opportunity to go back to The Bay for Game 5 and we just have to figure out a way to get a win."

Apart from lacking chemistry with James Harden, Howard may still probably seek greener pastures and probably a max contract before he retires. Getting a max contract though with Rockets is probably not gonna happen this time especially with a least productive season on his resume.

In his 12-year career in basketball, the 30-year-old center posted one of his worst records to date as he averaged only 13.7 points on 8.5 attempts per game and posted 6.6 win shares, his lowest since his rookie days as per Bleacher Report update.

Nevertheless, he might still get juicy deal as NBA teams still value size for a center player. Standing at 6'11", the 265-pound player may still attract a number of interested teams willing to splurge cash on him.
