Girl Meets World, Season 3 News Update: Love Triangle Breaks with Uncle Josh and Maya Together

Girl Meets World, Season 3, scheduled for a spring release on Disney Channel, is all set to be a 'season of feelings.'

According to reports, the upcoming season will see the love triangle between Riley, Maya and Lucas getting sorted with Maya going ahead in a relationship with Uncle Josh and letting go of Lucas. The season will also witness Riley, Maya, Lucas and the others from the gang dealing with the changes that take place in their lives. Earlier reports had suggested that the season will have the girls deal with intense topics like drugs, sex or drinking, but at the same time, it would also be within the channel's parameters.

The previous seasons were more about the love triangle and how things took turns. But, it has been revealed that the upcoming season will be full of feelings and emotions and how the characters deal with it.

The report also suggests that fans have formed two teams and are rooting for Riley and Lucas as team 'Rucas' and for Maya and Lucas as team 'Lucaya.'

Recently, showrunner Michael Jacobs has hinted that another character will be playing a pivotal part in season three. And, it is being estimated that it will be Uncle Josh, who will play a major role in the love triangle and also be a part of several complications. Uncle Josh is played by actor Uriah Shelton. Jacob has hinted that Uncle Josh will help the other characters grow and also add that texture to the season.

With Jacob's hint, it is being speculated that since Maya had a crush on Uncle Josh for a long time, the latter may realize his feelings for her as he gets into college. And with Maya and Uncle Josh together, she will let go of Lucas, thereby breaking the love triangle.
