'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Spoilers: What is Nathan Fillion's Role?
You know that Nathan Fillion was in the Joss Whedon series "Firefly" and in ABC' s "Castle." But you do not know all about him. His powerful voice was lent to some DC Comics shows, such as "Justice League Unlimited", some Green Lantern projects and an alien in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy."
He now seems to be getting into live action. Nathan Fillion will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," even though he is not playing the role that you might expect.
Fillion's face has been displayed on a number of fake movie posters, including a photograph for a Tony Stark film that was designed to imitate "Steve Jobs."
The posters name the leading man as Simon Williams, also called the Wonder Man. This is a member of various Avengers teams from some time or the other in the comic books.
The journey of Williams started in the comics as one of Tony Stark's competitors and also as a Wall Street-type conman. By joining hands with Baron Zemo, (who was the bad man that Daniel Bruhl role-played in the upcoming "Captain America: Civil War") he got some extra great powers. He will soon challenge the Avengers. However, he suddenly made a u-turn, cashed in on his superstar status and became a movie star.
Now these false movie posters do not make it too clear whether Williams is only an actor or a superhero who became an actor. Maybe Fillion does not feature at all in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." He can be spotted in many of the posters and videos in the backdrop.
However, writer/director James Gunn is not coming back to the earth in the sequel that is eagerly looked forward to.
So how on earth does Fillion fits in? It is quite a mystery.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will hit theaters May 5, 2017.
