Tim Tebow News and Rumors: Former NFL Player Should Run For Congress, Site Claims
Tim Tebow news and rumors have been swirling around his possible career in politics in the near future.
Ever since Tebow mentioned back in 2012 that he has considered running for a political position, fans have been yearning to see him run for a position. Well, it seems the chance might be now, according to a conservative website.
The Red Alert Politics (RAP) wrote an editorial endorsing Tebow, claiming that opportunity to have a spot on Congress is now since a Florida Republican congressman, from the same district of the 28-year-old, has announced that he will not be running again for the position.
The endorsement says, "In an elected body with 435 members, it's almost impossible not to get lost in the crowd and have minimal impact. Tebow would never be lost in the crowd and this would give him an opportunity to lead on issues he is already leading on in his life: fighting poverty, defending homeschoolers, and making traditional values cool again."
RAP editors continue to mention that Tebow would be a great fit for Congress because he has already been a hero and model for millions.
"At age 28, he would be the youngest member of Congress, yet he has arguably done more to help children than any current congressperson. Not only has he been a hero and a model of character for millions, he has also used the money he made through football to start the Tim Tebow Foundation, and his foundation is making a real impact, especially in Florida."
The rumors started in 2012 when in an interview with ESPN, Tebow said he hadn't ruled out politics.
"I haven't ruled [politics] out," Tebow said. "It won't be anytime soon in my future, but it'll be something I'll at least look at and consider one day."
This wasn't the only time. Just last month in an interview with Fox & Friends the Former NFL quarterback was asked about a potential career in politics.
He responded, "I don't know at this time in my life If there's a chance you can make a difference someday in something, then that would be intriguing."
