The Variety reports, "Café Society" is a romantic drama set during the 1930s and is scheduled to open the 69th Cannes Film Festival this year that runs from May 11 to 22. Woody Allen made an appearance at the Cannes in 2015 with Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix starrer, the crime movie "Irrigational Man" and also opened the festival in 2011 with his "Midnight in Paris".

"Café Society" will hit North American premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 19. Other stars to cast in "Café Society" are Steve Carell, Parker Posey, Blake Lively, and Jeannie Berlin.

The Movies News Guide reports the film-story. A romantic-costume drama set in the 1930s, Jesse Eisenberg's character wants to relocate to Hollywood and pursue his career in the movies. He is a creative neurotic just like Woody Allen, and once he enters the entertainment arena, he is just as hooked to the lavishness of the industry. With the help of his uncle (Steve Carell), Bobby gets an entry into the titular society that made the headlines during the 30s. Kristen Stewart aka Bonnie, who is also the screen-assistant of Carell helps him to make the inroads into the cream society.

The Vanity Fair reports, Bobby falls in love with Bonnie, who unfortunately has a boyfriend. The trailer shows one of the characters consoling Bobby that unrequited love kills more people than tuberculosis in one-year. The co-stars Lively and Anna Camp try to distract Jesse Eisenberg's character from the spell of Bonnie however they do not succeed.

Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart as they are being paired together for the first time. The film will premiere on the big screen on August 12.
