'Dancing with the Stars' News Update: Paige VanZant and Nyle DiMarco To Pay Tribute to 90s Movies
After the exciting Disney Night and Switch-up performances in the fourth and fifth week of Dancing with the Stars, the coming episode is also set to be different. Titled "Famous Dances Night," it will see UFC fighter Paige VanZant and model Nyle DiMario paying tribute to popular numbers from 90s movies.
Nyle will be seen getting into the skin of Jim Carrey's cartoon character from the 1994 movie "The Mask" and thus, would be wearing a yellow zoot suit. Paige VanZant, who has been nailing the floor with her awesome performances, will groove with partner Mark Ballas to Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.
And like Nyle, Mark might also don a colorful suit as he portrays the spy while VanZant is likely to go for the catsuit or go-go boots as she gets into the garb of the seductress who is trying to steal the spy's heart.
According to reports, Nyle and Peta Murgatroyd are not the first pair to dance on The Mask. The quickstep to "Hey Pachuco" has been previously performed on the show and not just once but thrice.
Season 15 runners-up Derek Hough and Shawn Johnson, Season 11 participants Cheryl Burke and Rick Fox and Season 5 winners Hélio Castroneves and Julianne Hough have been there and done that. So, it would be a little challenging for Peta as she will have to come up with some novel moves and twists to create fireworks.
Challenge also lies in wait for Nyle as his outfit might make it difficult for him to follow Peta's facial expressions that have been his guiding light up till now. The deaf model follows partner Peta's moves with his eyes and the mask is likely to create hurdles for him. As for Paige and Mark, the costumes are probably going to be equally cumbersome as they jazz to the theme song "Soula Bossa Nova."
