Season 1 finale of "Supergirl" showed how she stopped Myriad and it closed with a pod similar to the one in which Supergirl/Kara Danvers (Michelle Benoist) arrived on Earth.

In an interview, show producer Andrew Kreisberg, revealed some details about the upcoming season. Kreisberg confirmed that the person who is inside the pod is of significance to the show, but will not reveal who the person is.

Kreisberg also added that in Season 1 finale, Kara has now transformed into a Supergirl. In the next season, she will become more mature, confident and stronger. So far she has managed to flawlessly merge Kara Danvers and Supergirl into a single character.

According to rumors, Project Cadmus will be an important part of Season 2. "It'll be one aspect of it. We've been discussing the big bad of season 2; Cadmus may or may not be related to that. The hunt for Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) will definitely be part of season 2," Kreisberg revealed.

Executive producer, Ali Adler, said in an interview that there is no official confirmation that the season 2 of the show will happen at all. However, they are optimistic that "Supergirl" will be renewed for season 2. Les Moonves, CBS president, said previously that all freshmen series will comeback with their next installments, which will most likely include "Supergirl."

Adler also added that Season 1 finale was planned in such a way that it automatically paves way for season 2.

When enquired about the pod and the character in it, Adler too didn't reveal any information, except for the fact that it will play an important role in next season. As far as the rumor about appearance of Superman is concerned, the show producers insist that they are focused on Supergirl's story only.
